CHARLESTON TIPS & TRICKS
Charleston is one of my all time favorite vacation spots! ☀️
My girlfriends and I were recently chatting about our trip there last year, and it really got me missing it. This old soul loves the history, and the food, AND The Notebook filming locations. 😍 Ahhhh, I could go on and on. Plus being there with great friends was truly pricless.
We keep asking ourselves the names of certain places we ate at, so I decided to go back through pictures and blog these locations so we don’t forget!
RESTAURANTS (this is the order I prefer them in):
167 Raw - best lobster roll I’ve ever had (even the one when we were in Boston!)
Fleet Landing - the pecan pie was heaven on earth
The Wild Olive - the truffle potatoes are a MUST!
Stono Market & Tomato Shed Cafe
Blind Tiger Pub
Charleston Crab House
THE AIRBNB WE STAYED AT:
Historic Southern Home in Paradise - Located on Wadmalaw Island - I would stay here every single time we go to Charleston if I could! It’s also close to the Angel Oak!
ATTRACTIONS:
The Angel Oak Tee - a MUST see while you are there
Deep Water Vineyard - go meet the pet cow, Ida Claire
Touring Historic Downtown Charleston by carriage ride, visiting City Market, seeing the old houses, rainbow row, ghost tours, shopping, etc… is a MUST! Plan a day or two just for doing these things.
THE NOTEBOOK FILMING LOCATIONS:
Many of you know this is my all time favorite movie! Casey took me to these spots years ago, and I forced my girlfriends to visit a few when we went last year…
Boone Hall Plantation - The EXTERIOR of Allie's summer home was filmed here. Also filmed here is the lake scene where Noah & Allie are swimming with friends - 1235 Long Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC
Calhoun Mansion - The INTERIOR of Allie’s summer home was filmed here. This is the largest single-family mansion in Charleston, but is open to the public for tours.
Cypress Gardens - The infamous lake scene with the birds was filmed here (FYI the swans aren’t there. They were brought in for the movie. There are alligators though) - 3030 Cypress Gardens Rd, Moncks Corner, SC
College of Charleston - where Allie attended school - 66 George St, Charleston, SC
High Cotton - When Noah returned from serving in WWII, he looks through the window of a restaurant to see Allie eating with her new fiance (GASP).
King Street & The American Theater - First date location - 446 King St, Charleston, SC
The William Aiken House - Right next to the theatre, is this big yellow house where Allie tries on her wedding dress
Martins Point Plantation - This is the dream home that Noah fixed up for Allie. It is a PRIVATE residence & subdivision. I will leave it at that. ;) It’s hard to find the exact address but try 204 Martins Point Rd.
